Dismantling the Railway Bridge in Varel | 01. October 2018

By order of our long-standing customer Möller & Essing from Georgsmarienhütte we dismantled a railway bridge in Varel/East Frisia last Weekend.

We used a 3000 t Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 crane with full ballast of 96 t, so that crane operator Peter Schulz could still lift the maximum weight of the bridge segments of 19 t with a 28 m outreach. Eight additional steel mats, which had been previously especially delivered and laid by KVN colleagues Kevin Hellbach and Christoph Wöstenkühler, provided the necessary stability of the crane in the bog area.

In exact coordination with the Möller & Essing employees, the old iron bridge was lifted piece by piece, dismantled on an adjacent surface and then removed. In the late evening, the construction site was cleared as planned and the LTM 1300-6.2 was transferred back to Osnabrück.
