Giant cruise liner "Norwegian Joy"- final assembly in the Meyer Boat Builder's Yard | 21. March 2017

On Saturday morning, the "Norwegian Joy" has left the graving dock hall of the Meyer Noat Builder's Yard in Papenburg, so that the remaining work can be carried out prior to the planned delivery in late March.

Together with our partner GERTZEN from Kluse, the KVN had the order to lift the 65-ton chimney by a tandem lift on to the upper deck of the gigantic 326 m long cruise liner.

To achieve this, we used a Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 crane of KVN, the world's largest telescopic crane, with a maximum load capacity of 1,200 tons. The joint lift with the 500-t crane from Gertzen took place as scheduled and smoothly, despite the narrow space and the many curious onlookers.

Also for our KVN colleagues this operation in such an impressive scenery was very special.
