Crane use in the "Grüner Jäger" | 27. December 2017

The chestnut tree in the winter garden of the cult pub "Grüner Jäger" in Osnabrück has become history. The more than 100 years old and about 10 tons heavy chestnut tree was infested by diseases and pests, severely impaired in his stability and therefore had to be cut down.

Employees of the specialist company "Green Branch" from Tecklenburg, using a chainsaw, cut from a cherry picker first the treetop and then the trunk. Our experienced crane operator Klaus Anke pulled the individual parts of the tree with an 80 t crane from the beer garden over the roof of the house onto the forecourt of the church Katharinenkirche, where other colleagues shredded the Wood.

For many citizens of Osnabrück this chestnut tree is connected to beautiful memories, so that numerous onlookers accompanied the Action.
