With Crane and Saw | 08. February 2017

At the historical house "Doppelte Voß" in Mettingen an old beech weighing more than 20 tonnes had to be felled as it had massive wood damage because of fungus and there was danger of it breaking apart or falling over.

On behalf of the landscape gardening company Stockreiter, KVN provided an 80 t crane for this operation. From a working platform, our colleagues sawed the large branches from the tree crown, which were slowly carried to the ground in chains by our crane driver Klaus Anke. From there they were transported by an excavator, further sawed and then crushed with a chaffcutter.

The massive stem was then carefully removed in layers using a saw and a crane. After more than seven hours, the damaged beech was safely removed.

KVN crane operator Klaus Anke was pleased with the compliments of the customer, the company Stockreiter: "Thank you for the excellent cooperation, everything worked great."
