Steam boiler of a historic locomotive loaded | 19. October 2015

The steam boiler of the historic locomotive 41052 has been worked up. The approximately 25-ton component, in which the steam is produced that drives the steam engine, has been completely redesigned in a specialised company in Bruchsal. Three years ago, the steam boiler had been transported there from Osnabrück.

Now the core, the frog of the so-called Schinkellok of the Steam Engine Association Osnabrück, has returned to the mine train station on Piesberg.

Crane operator Dieter Fiedrich loaded the extremely heavy component from a 130t mobile crane of KVN from the low loader and put it temporarily on a flat wagon of the Steam Engine Association Osnabrück. The steam boiler will be stored there until the chassis of the locomotive is completely overhauled.

Albert Merseburger, Chairman of the Steam Engine Association Osnabrück, was pleased with the safe loading: "It's great that everything worked out so well in front of so many spectators."
